What is Bones for Life? The BONES FOR LIFE® Program is based on the teachings of Moshe Feldenkrais – recognising that a dynamic walking style is the natural movement that stimulates bone growth and strength. It invites your body's innate intelligence to learn. [Overview] Bones For Life is designed to safely support the transmission of force directly through the skeletal structure to generate and maintain bone health. Each movement offers safe weight bearing challenges to build healthy bones, so people who are limited in movement or vulnerable to injury or pain can participate. There are 90 Active Bones processes in total. Bones For Life certified teachers offer:
Additionally, a Bones For Life certified trainer offers BFL teacher training (includes Advanced Bones Certificate) and can arrange one-day, 3-day and 5-day workshop 'intensives' in your region/location. For workshop dates and more information please see our "training" pages. Bones for Life in clinical practiceThe practise of Bones for Life as a therapy has been likened to "body hypnosis" by Dr Luis Gomez, an NLP-based hypnotherapist working in Madrid. Gomez' paper "How BFL Works" is based in his practical application of BFL in clinical practice that he attributes to "significant breakthroughs" for his clients. The paper, presented at the First International Bones for Life "Osteo-Blast" Conference in 2010, is a must read for psychologists, hypotherapists, gestalt therapists etc. who are supporting the physical and emotional well being of their clients. The paper discusses the phenomenological observations and strategies that a Bones for Life teacher develops with Bones for Life training.
